Richard Daly the CEO of Vodafone Egypt has been called by the Egyptian Communication Ministry office coriander late at night, at about 11:00 pm attend an emergency meeting and asked him to limit all mobile phones that do not have registration data with Vodafone Egypt which can not be accessed their data when needed , and ordered to close down its short message service for these phones as a way to reduce the risks that could come from behind the coming strike of 4th of May 4 the next!

Since Vodafone is life all other portable companies in Egypt has offered its services to clients and provided them with all facilities to operate the service without signing any contract with the company, and that for prepaid mobile phone lines, but the security apparatus in Egypt, which injured a strike on April 6 last mad discovered that this impedes the process Control of any strike was expected to occur by the Egyptian people, for this gave the Ministry of Communications on 13 deadline for Vodafone to stop short message service of these phones, and rushed across the Vodafone customer service department to contact customers who do not have service contracts, and requested access to those data subscribers registered with fear The decision comes from the Ministry to disconnect service calls… who knows?!
This means that all phones that will work over the coming period will be known by the security authorities, and can trace their owners, and that will limit the spread of blame and transfer between members of the Egyptian people, to impose control over any future strikes!
Government’s determination was really crazy, this time more than before, they can not control the situation often, they impose their control on everything and discover that if has become more wider and complicated than ever before, I am not sure if they are moving to control the Internet, especially with these rumors hesitation with preventing using of Facebook in Egypt!
What hurts most is my feeling that the Egyptian people always deprived of any full-service, shame on Government!

As I commented at Arabawy’s who quoted you on this;
I was thrilled when I first heard about mobile phone lines with no contracts and no information known by the provider about the customer (save the calls themselves). Iin fact I was astonished that they existed at all in Egypt, being the police country that it is!
As a still-mobile-free person who values his privacy and loathes submittal-contracts that would have been the last thing that could make me consider a phone. But now, I’m totally free of pressure :D
Too bad for activists, though.
