Do you Trust Wikipedia?

Wikipedia is a multilingual in more than 250 languages for the preparation of the Guinness accurate, integrated and diverse, open, impartial and free for all, all can contribute to the editor. Arabic version began in July 2003 and there is now 58.473 article.

I mean that the information found in encyclopedia comes from sources other than the specialized and often not the sites administered by professional editors.

Of course, as is the case at all locations, the Arabic language and Arabic Wikipedia suffers from serious weaknesses, and there is unusual activity for the topics that are in other languages, we can say that the Arabs neglected this encyclopedia has not taken another front from the fronts of knowledge.

Personally, I attended an interview with one of the persons who were on the relationship established from the outset and development, and discovered that the site Islam Online. Net had been deleted more than 300 articles were intended to enrich the content of the encyclopedia, but they were removed in some way because of our hostility to the Arab position in general and IslamOnline.net in particular.

Here again I invite you to consider this matter Encyclopedia and participate in the development of content including Arab values.

The truth is that what arouses the writing of this interjection is the skepticism of some experts Australians in the encyclopedia as a specialist, reliable, and have warned students and academics not to use it to obtain information because it’s not reliable source and the information published by members of non-specialists as a result of an analytical study carried out to ascertain the content of Wikipedia!

I do not know but I loved the idea itself and I encourage everyone to participate and increase publishing Arabic content for the public utility, especially given that it offers free for all use.

If shareholders were not in Arabic Wikipedia.. what are the reasons that prompted the neglect enrich this encyclopedia?

   I do not trust wikipedia for information or sources unless I can verify the information in another, more legitimate, source. We are living in an age when we no longer need to memorize facts because we can easily recall them on a computer. What we must now learn to do is be more critical of where we take information from.

   I also do not allow my students to cite wikipedia directly. Just read through some of the physics articles and you will discover how many errors are possible.

   Once I figured out that wikipedia is basically full of what anyone has to say on a matter–whether correct or not–I thought it basically a waste of time. And I am really ticked-off now that you said they deleted all that info placed there from IslamOnline. IslamOnline is a fountain of knowledge, truth and beauty. I wonder why people would dismiss its importance. My kids though have found an excellent reference with amazing kknowledge and accuracy…they call it Mamapedia…hahaha!
