Thanks to GoDaddy I have lost My Elgg Life Thinking Community!
I have tried to move the files and create another database and done everything possible to save this Elgg installation, I had a very bad time working on it, and unfortunately there were no use, because my database was destroyed somehow when GoDaddy Support Team said that they fix my database problem!!
Now I am the one who need a real support and extra work to bring it back to life and fix GoDaddy bad support problems, because whenever you will click on my Life Thinking Community it gives you a blank page. I have to tell you that this website was having more than 300 members, and this is how I am losing more than 500 views per month for this community.
For so many times I posted about the bad shared hosting servers, and how GoDaddy people keep telling me to upgrade my hosting account, and we all knows this tricks that force you to pay extra money, I am really wondering when the time will come and I will be able to get my own dedicated server, I don’t have the feeling to work on it anymore, I don’t even want to use Elgg anymore, I am so pissed off!

So sorry to hear about this Hisham. I didn’t even know you had a community. I’m so suprised they messed up your stuff. They tend to have very experienced techs working for them.

@bbrian017, Believe me Brian they missed my everything since the last weeks and I am suffering, I was even running 2 communities and wished to develop them more but both are damaged and need lots of work, and I really don’t want to spend more time doing this, and this is why I went for BlueHost.com
Anyways, it was my mistake since the beginning to trust any hosting service, I no longer able to feel secure, and maybe this is the good thing!

@Qwaider, Here is the text of the Twitter reply: “Is it a database problem? Our Support staff may be able to recover an old copy (for a fee)”!!!
they want a (FEE), they want me to pay for what they missed up! they want me to pay for my things over and over like usual!

Sorry to hear about your trouble with Godaddy. I though by now people knew that they should by domains with a domain company and host with a hosting company.

@Jay Gumbs, This is a reasonable way of thinking for me, at least no one can control you if you don’t set any important domain names to be your primary domain!

I am so sorry for your troubles. You are such a nice person and always willing to help others and guide them.

Thats just so shameful to think that they have the nervers to come on tweeter saying they can restore it for a fee we use hosting companys’ because they promise us security for them to be saying that on twitter is like a cow giving you a pail of milk then kick it over cheer up my brother worst could have happen

I just had my own GoDaddy database problem yesterday. It was only one database, but it was the one that runs my blog. Their team was useless, and luckily I didn’t follow their advice or I would have lost a months worth of data. Hopefully a good system recovery person can help you. That’s what I was able to do, so I wish you well. I’m interested to know that I’m not the only person who is told to get a dedicated server from them when I tell them that the shared one is not very reliable.

@Tina T, GoDaddy team is useless as you said, plz don’t ask them to fix your database problems, because all what they do is to reset the database and probably you will lose your data!
