Is Mokattam Area a Place for Sexual Harassment?

I got shocked when I was surfing the blogs trying to find something to read when I found that post by Egyptian Chronicles which talks about what happened in Mokattam area that night to a blogger of her friends.

I really don’t agree with what those boys did in the street. I just find it something interesting to share with you, and I want to know if this could happened in another part of the world like this way? And if this happened what is the punishment you think who did it deserves?

I want to send a message to Mokattam People, if this happen to you one day, you have to speak about it, ask for your rights, and wake up the world around you. If everyone of us deal with this matter in a strong way, no matter what he/her have to do, we can stop this kind of bad behavior in our streets. Maybe this will end it.

A friend of mine told me a story about his group friends from Europe while their stay in Egypt, I was convinced by what he have told me about the differences between two places he visited with his foreign friends and been attached by a group of kids under 16 years old, and he couldn’t control the situation because the kids was acting like crazy, he hardly could stop them from pushing and touching his friends by taking them to a café shop as a close safe place for them. He told me that this happened to him when he visited Alexandria city, and found that sexual harassment in Cairo city is less than Alexandria.

But what about Mokattam?

Is it this bad to live in Mokattam, or it a general thing about Egypt?

I can imagine now why we are at the tail of all nations, everything is this world have a way to do it, unfortunately we don’t do things in the right way. Our whole Educational System is damaged anyways.. what I am going to say more than that?!!!!

So I will just quote this from Egyptian Chronicles!

If that boy does not get the punishment he deserves according to the Egyptian law now , he will do it over and over.

   It’s sad but the truth is that those kinds of things happen all over the world. :| What really disgusts me though is the boy’s parents. They are just as guilty as the boy, in my opinion.
