Looking into Moodle LMS

When you talk about E-Learning, all people will say one word “Moodle”, so.. what is the big secret behind Moodle E-Learning open source software?

I have installed the latest version of Moodle on my host recently to discover it and try to take a closer over view of it’s several options.

The first impression after installing Moodle for me was that it needs lots of work and modifications before start working and using it. I have reviewed the plugins for Moodle, there is lots of modules and plugins. It’s not classified well on the main page of Moodle, but I was interested only because one thing that caught my eyes and made me smile feeling good, this happened when I notice that lots of Moodle plugins works for the latest version, as written beside the version of the plugin, for example “1.9 or latter” which make you really fell comfort with what you have in your hands, otherwise you will have to suffer lots testing and developing the older plugins or rest your mind and use an old version of Moodle.

I notice also the lake of templates for Moodle, even you can not say the exist templates are beautiful, and almost all of them are looking basically the same, but anyways the code and the use should be more important than the way things will look like, at least in the testing phase.

Maybe you are asking your self why I am interested in Moodle, or why I want to try it out! OK.. if you were asking this to your self while you are reading this post, let me tell you my reasons, My reasons is that in my work field I should try out and learn some information about all CMS & LMS systems I can, this will help on deciding which software is the best to use when developing websites for my clients, almost all my clients are Biz Companies, Schools, Social Networks and Blogers.

Well, I think I will keep testing and learning more about Moodle in the coming weeks, and let you know what I will discover.
