Life.. A choice you can live with

African Americans were talking about the N word in a top show. They are offended by this word N and want to ban it, and stop anyone from saying it.
They can handle the word, only if another N person is the one who are calling them N.
This is ridiculous!
They say American people use this word for them, N means Evil for them, and they don’t want hear it anymore, the debate start in a pacific way everybody clapping and agree, if they are offended then we should never call an African American N, but the conversation change when one of the African American start telling to a white American lady, to shut up because she is a minority and she is in danger spices she was saying, that she don’t see a problem with the word as long you don’t say it with hate or with a bad behavior, so this is racism, and the same guy say to another lady wet back, which means for them Mexican and he say Mexicans should go back to Mexico:) this is very funny, just wondering should they have to go back to Africa?
Some African American people are not just racist, they are also the most insecure people in America, they can not even handle their own color , and they were giving examples, like: people don’t like black dogs, they prefer it white because white’s are more beautiful, can you believe it?
This is not true!
I know a lots of white people and they don’t think about colors that much, when is about dogs, almost all people go by pedigree, race small or big, white and non white people. I am sure that not all African Americans think this way, the ones who accept themselves and all behind their history they should be proud of it because they have history which means lots.
We all have a history . I am wet back:) and you? What you think about this N word?
Don’t they also realize that their own race uses that word? Hello, shouldn’t they fix that as well. I think so!

”N” is the worst discriminating word commonly used today??
I’m not sure…
Verbal racism is not the only visible type of discrimination :(

@Andi,
well I really didn’t find this word as racist, but yes this word was used as discrimination against color people, but they are not the only ones who suffer from this, and they can not change history.
Thanks for your comment.

I jsut cannot understand why the word N hurts others’ sentiments. There are so many other priority areas to look into rather than such insignificant issues raking up public commotion. Responsible people should educate themselves first and then educate the so-called agitated minds to concentrate on economic revival and health issues.

It may sound overly sentimental or excessively dramatic my opinion but …I believe in the power of words :)
I wouldn’t worry about this ”N word” – I thihk it’s just ironic. From Ironic online expressions/Vocabulary :)
Greetings from Romania!

The N word is used very often in rap/hip-hop music. Some black people would use the N word to refer to their friends, for instance, “What’s up N?” In my opinion, the N word is inappropriate regardless of the way it is spelled. Doesn’t matter if the word ends in A or R. Some people say it is okay to use the N word as long as it ends in A and not R.

I can see races in the same country between different states, my example is about Egypt and the middle east, that in some countries where white people live there is sometimes a bad history or something people used to say when describing people from other countries or states in the country they belong to, like people from apart Egypt, everybody in Egypt make fun of them and almost all jokes are about them :) or people from country side when people treat them bad thinking that stupidity is created for them! Indians also are another example :) so who cares?!

African americans, or blacks or whatever they want to call themselves, have every right to choose what offends them.
It is a fact that for many years racists have called them N in an offensive way, so it is not so difficult to see why they feel bad when white people call them N today. Even though the majority of whites don’t do it in a hateful way, it is clear that it brings up unpleasant memories.
Even though it seems to us whites ridiculous or strange when they call themselves N, while they forbid us from doing it, if you really respect their rights, you should not call them N.
I agree though, that it is not productive for them to call themselves N. It just makes them reliving the past, which today seems far away to the rest of the world, especially after the election of a black President.

As a black person I find it offensive when a non-black person call me n!gga, freedom of speech or not, cool or not, that’s racism toward me. It’s like a tall person calling a short person : a midget; a non-Jewish person calling a Jewish person the k-word, or a man calling a woman the b-word, or a straight person calling a homosexual a faggot, or calling a disabled person a cripple: that is not right! Look at the history, you’re going to see what white people did to black people: slavery, segregation, discrimination, colonization, racial profiling and so on. If we allow non-black people to say it then we have to be honest and say that those white masters of slaves, those Klansmen etc… are not racist at all. Let’s say a white dude can say the n-word, so when I got pull over, the white officer can say to me “n!gga you can move now”; the Latino cashier girl can say “you forgot your change n!gga” instead of saying “sir”! We shouldn’t have a debate about this. Non-black people should not say it at all and that’s it!
