Official Translating for Marriage Certificate in Egypt

I already went to the Translating office located at “Bab Al Khalk” related to South Court “Mahkamet Ganob” at Cairo asking for translating my marriage certificate into English.

For those Egyptians who are married from foreigners and went through court marriage, they should go to the translation office at Court related to their address in Egypt, and ask official translation for their marriage certificate to use it outside Egypt and to provide it to foreign Embassies.

They usually accept the certificate on Sundays and Wednesdays only, and probably they will tell you to come back latter after 2 weeks and check if the translation finished or not yet.

I will update you about this when I got my certificate translated.

You always take the longer and the harder route, why all that??you can just ask me…!! :)
when you want to translate your marriage certificate of a foreigner wife… you go to El-Es3af, share3 Ramsis (you can take the Metro and step down in Gamal Abdel Naser Station and you’ll find el-shar el 3akary fe weshak!) there you can ask for Translation section.. you hand them your original marriage certificate, pay the fees, and get the translation in the very next day certify it and you’re done :) you don’t have to wait for two weeks!!

Sam : thank you for the information, but the problem was having my certificate translated from the office I related to, because they told me that I have to go to that office to get the translation.
You know that they don’t provide you with the full or right informations in the Government offices.

Anyways, I think it will be ready by tomorrow, and finally I will finish this issues.

Oh yessss Man , you are right… I always take the long way to do anything :)

I am not sure if you read my article describing what happened to me at the Translation Office, anyways the URL is here :

I’m from Al-Beheira and I got my marriage certificate translated in Cairo (got married in the Civil Registration Office in the ministry of Justice, Cairo though) so there’s no such a thing that you have to get your certificate translated from the office you’re related to! my guess, they’re gonna accept any valid marriage certificate…. and they’ll certify it for you… after that you can get the Ministry of Foreign affairs’ Stamp on it too… and as you’ve that stamp the embassy is gonna certify it! but anyways, I know you’re Done! thanking god… but if you needed more copies and I believe you will :) try my method! .. hey, BTW I’ve red the other articles, I’m a loyal visitor of your blog… :) Take Care

Sam : Thank you for the information you post it on your comment.

I just want you to know that I got my marriage by court, and that why I have to go to Translation Office related to my Court. I mean I don’t have the same marriage certificate that you have, so.. for sure I wouldn’t suffer that much if I got married at that time they give the permit form the American Embassy like they do now! … got it?

you are always welcome being my blog visitor.. So keep around man :)

  5. Masha Allah you are married to a foreigner! May I ask from where? Actually—I might know her–we American expats have many nice egroups for foreign women married to Egyptians, and we gather for lunch and picnics and halaqas. If you email me, I will give you information about these groups–they are really good women there. And I will be in Egypt soon–maybe I could get to know her if I dont already! Oh–booked my tickets alhamdulilah–will be there first week of May insha Allah! Lalalalaalleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!

Hi, I am gathering all this information I need cause I have met a wonderful young man from Egypt. Everythng just seems so complicated and everyday that goes by it seems as if our relationship gets more complicated. Meaning it may be longer for us to be together. I hear you all have groups, I would love to hear about your relationships with Egyptian men and hopefully it can inspire me to keep us strong till the day that we can be together.
