I recommend going minimalist in 2010. That’s what I’m planning to do once I move back to New Zealand. Moving countries is a good reason to get did of the clutter.

I actually believe that “saving” will always get you to that place of “not having enough”
Yeah I can be more discipline and not waste money on dumb stuff, but instead of saving, I will try to double my income, via working for myself.
Of course if you have tons of unnecessary things like 3 phones, 4 heaters for 2 rooms and stuff, you can always cut those out and save from your bills.
I personally am lucky enough that this winter is pretty mild here, so I am not using any A/Cs nor heaters and that saves me around 200$ a month!
What you can save also on is those new light bulbs, have a “white” light and consume like 5 times as less energy as ur regular light bulb. A bulb is usually around 75Watts these new ones are like 15-20! Might not seem a lot, but 10 bulbs in your house add up over time.

A good way to save money is to drop my money-sucking husband who doesn’t have a job and keep all my income for myself and my own future!
How’s that for a new year’s resolution?
Even if I work so hard, it still isn’t enough for both of us and I often have to make sacrifices just to make the money I earn cover BOTH of our expenses. >:(

….. women always cry for equality! For once they get to feel what every or most men on earth feel, when they have to support the whole family, and yet they cry again!
Then all men can actually say “The Best” way to save money, is to drop my money-sucking wife, that spends more than she makes!
The world is full of negativity as it is, we don’t have to read it here as well.

I understand the idea of going minimalist and do think it’s a good idea with limits.
Is it possible to add more income? Is there anything in your house that you don’t use that you can sell to make some money?
