oh this is the good stuff! When I buy a pc desktop or laptop I always make sure it’s good for gaming! Right now my pc is old it’s the xps600 but it’s still a 3.2gig processor 4 gigs of ram and has 2 1gig SLI gforce vid cards pushing it.
Have fun with your new toy Hisham

@bbrian017, You pc seems good to me Brian, my old HP is a 3.2Gigaz processor, but it’s more than 2 years old now so I am going to use it as a backup! I am just used to the high performance toys, but let me tell you a secret of mine, I never PLAY GAMES on my computers, I don’t even have any game installed :)

@Hisham, the issue with my xps600 is DDR2 ram and it’s only hyper threading it’s not even duo core! But the SLI for video really makes up for the rest.
Another sad part is I’m running a 32bit OS and it only uses something like 3 gigs and I have 4.
I’m loo0king at this for my next pc but I cannot justify the price tag.

@bbrian017, WOw! man you have to travel to the space to get one of these Dell thing :)
I hope you can bring it to your desk soon!
bbrian017,
The 3gig limitation is not related to whether your OS is 32-bits or 64-bits; the 32-bits OS however would have a limitation on whether you can add more than 4g or not, since (2^32 = 4GB; which is the maximum a 32-bits OS can handle). The 64-bits on the other hand can handle up to 2^64 Byes, which equates to 1.84×10^19 .. or in other words, practiclly no limitation on the memory you can install there.
The 3gb limitation you may be referring to is mainly caused by your BIOS version. The OS is not likely able to read all of the 4gb physical memory installed. Some OSs read them as 3g, some as 3.25G and some 3.5g. Depends.
Still though, valid point, get yourself a new computer (new bios) with a 64-bit and you’ll be fine.. well, at least as the max supported memory goes.. :)

@Mo, Hi mo that’s some great advice! I don’t think I’m going to waste my money on anything for this pc and start saving for an entire new pc. I also went and bought ram that is only 533 and I can run 800 mhz it’s a sad story I simply mis read the website information.
Thanks

Whatever you’re writing about, computer products and their technical aspects, social networks, or life–your posts are more engaging and well laid out than ever.
PS. Did you know that every time I respond to a page you Stumble, I get a message saying your inbox is full? Or sometimes the message says only that it didn’t go through and I should try later. Just wanted you to know–I’m not ignoring the pages you sent my way.
