Write Arabic Using English Letters

I tried the amazing online tool eiktub™ , its a suite of programs by LinguArabica, LLC that enables the user to write in Arabic efficiently and accurately without using an Arabic keyboard. A standard English (Qwerty) keyboard is all that is required.
eiktub™ has many functions:

I thought I should write here about it, so many people out there may try it and give their feed backs. I think it’s amazing tool for those who don’t have an Arabic keyboard on their system.

I just tried this and its really not that accurate at all. In fact, Yamli is waaaaaaaaaaay better than what these guys are doing. I would assume they’re still in the beta stages and they will improve with time. However, Yamli is waaaaaaay past this stage and can accurately recognize, display and, get this, SUGGEST from a drop down menu.
I find it more user friendly (give it a try, and judge for your self)

I actually find eiktub to be much better than yamli. You get instant feedback on what to type (doesn’t go to a server to figure out the whole word). Once you become familiar with the transliteration rules which are not that complicated, you can type much faster than you would do on yamli.
yamli uses basically same concept as onkosh.com. both convert whole words, whereas eiktub is a true transliteration software in the sense that it has fixed conversion rules for letters.

The online pad of eiktub(TM) is not designed for accuracy but for speed. It runs on your machine and is therefore very fast regardless of how slow your internet connection is.

Hi there is a website with free videos for the alphabet, and words in Arabic located at http://www.alifba.tv. There is also a learning software available for purchase.

Marwan, are you kidding me? It’s designed for speed not accuracy?
When I make a mistake typing, it costs triple the time to find it, and fix it. So speed is really not an argument here.
Yamli’s concept appears to be better designed, and has more flexibility to cater for people’s needs. And if it’s speed you want, speed you will get just figure out the right combination.
Ultimately, I think a combination of both (caching locally, and consulting a server for words or new words) might be the best thing to do

Finding a mistake and correcting may cost time, but this is true in all cases, including yamli. In yamli however, chosing by way of mouse is required for almost every word. THis is true in typing in English as well. Once you learn using an English keyboard, correcting mistakes is fast, On yamli however, you have to interrupt your editing to pick
the right word from the suggested list of words
Typing can be fast only using a keyboard. Sometimes the simplest solution is to backspace and retype. This is much faster than switching back and forth from mouse to keyboard.
For web search, accuracy is not important. But in many other applications, it is needed. eiktub allows you to download a standalone text editor that is excellent and very accurate as you can see from the screen shots on http://www.eiktub.com

You don’t need to use the mouth in Yamli. You can use the keyboard keys.
I rarely find the need to change any words when using Yamli anyway.
I believe Yamli is solving this problem the right way. It takes me as long to write a text using Eiktub as it would with an Arabic keyboard, or even worse a virtual keyboard …
There is no comparison to be made …

One other thing I realized … You can actually write the word the way you pronounce it in Yamli and it would figure out the correct spelling …
In eiktub you need to know the exact spelling which doesnt help much when u are an email or doing a search …

The combinations are completely counter intuitive and not as user friendly as writing in Yamli. This is a major selling point
Next, when you have a drop down list, this doesn’t mean that you have to “use the mouse” you don’t need to use the mouse, you can refine your writing as you go along. Or you can use the arrow keys.
Finally, the test!
It took me 60 seconds to write the sentence “مرحبا كيف الشباب” in ektob. It took me 13 seconds to write it in Yamli! It’s a completely, hands down far superior and way better product!
I’m sorry, but as a user, I find Yamli making more sense to use. It’s not cryptic combinations, and gives me the exact results even without training. Speed wise, I’m positive people will find a way to remember the combinations for Yamli which combined with their intuitive interface makes them….. Far faster and more accurate than anything awkward eiktub (in it’s present form) has

eiktub started as standalone Arabic transliterator which supports full vowelization and unicode Qureaanic characters.

i am looking write in arabic lang
like gmail
well when i type any word it should not give me arabic meaning
eg:if i type market it should give me as market in arabic not as souk
i don’t need translation
it’s there any software for that ?

i looking for software like
if i type any thing in English
it should give out in Arabic as same as
English sentence not translated meaning in
Arabic .
eg : if i write MARKET in English
out put should be Market in Arabic character not as souk
if some one read it in Arabic it will sound
as market not as souk
market means souk
if i get output as souk in Arabic it is
called translation
why i need this ?
