The Best in Self Defense

There have been many court records stating cases of rape, harass or physical attack. Most of these have women as their top victims, since men are believed to have the ability to defend themselves more.  Yes, defend….
Women have been advised time and again to prepare themselves against aggressors that may attack them anytime possible. They are everywhere: the streets, the office, even at school. They may be people who are familiar or complete strangers. Most importantly their motives differ….

They may be rapist or just plain robbers. Either way, they represent “danger” to a streetwalker (especially women streetwalker). They ambush with their schemes and at times the usual kick at the groin or poking the eyes are not enough lifesavers unlike what was seen in movies. And though martial arts seemed like a cool way to get a kick-ass safety, there are other ways to do it—learning what self defense really means.
Self defense is all about using the head and not whatever physical attacks necessary to blow down an oppressor. They may work though but everything is not always about “the way of the fists”. It’s a known fact that thinking before acting brings out the best in everything we try to do.

Brawns are the best weapon ever and a background check on self defense would prove this claim as only 10 percent of it pertains to physical counter-moves. The remaining 90 percent are all about keeping calm and being aware of one’s surroundings to know how to prevent such ambush from the suspected attacker. Know who he is and how to fight him before he even attacks is the first thing to do. If things did get aggressive, it’s time to bring out those sharp ideas and strike back (get physical). Here’s how to prevent an attack.

1. Keep calm and cool
An attacker would always look for easy targets. They would often look for women who are busy with their phones, have their hands full (like after going in the grocer) and seem fearful. Have a confident placing. In court records, cases have been posted where the victims are usually those who are unaware and are freaked out if they find someone following them. They usually end up in dark alleys where no one would be able to help them. Another fact is that attacking at once may only get the oppressor fired up that may lead the contact to be much worst.
Keeping the chin up and looking like the girl who’s aware is a sure way to keeping the bad men away. These women have the tag “bring it on” posted on their foreheads.

2. They are not always at the dark
Keep in mind that attackers are not always those who creep out from the dark. They may be people whom we call associates. There is this one sure way to keep their secret evil motives from manifesting, and keep us miles away at once. This is called de-escalation.
De-escalation is speaking or acting in a way that may keep the worst from happening. Example of such is the throwing the wallet when a robber attacks instead of fighting back. Sometimes this method is for keeping one’s rage calmed down by agreeing with him or her: example is when harassed. These are ways to have their focus redirected thus keeping one away in a tight situation.

3. Learn safety measures
Know the streets traveled as much as possible. Go to places where there are many people. Keep out of those where being alone means trouble. Know hang-outs which are safe. Try to convince friends the joints which you believe are safe from possible attackers. Also have a buddy when walking at night.
Instant communication is also a must. Have the speed dial of your cell phones ready in case of emergency. More than that posts a written schedule of activities that they ought to know about. Be direct in saying where you’ll be going, with whom, and the time to come home.

4. It’s time to learn self-defense
Be more aware than ever. There are moves that attacker may find themselves surprised. These are moves which they least expect before giving the kick at the groin and poking the eyes. It’s a great add to confidence if the techniques on fighting back can be learned.

There are times, however, that rather than hand to hand combat, lectures in self defense classes give attention to ingenuity. A pen may be used as a weapon as an umbrella. A simple kick may not be martial arts yet it may do wonders. Inhalers (for asthmatic) and spray perfumes may also serve as pepper sprays giving the target a chance to get away fast.
Remember, a good self defense class helps a person in sizing up the situation.

Anticipating an attacker means giving focus on learning from other’s past experiences and taking in the present to know how to keep safe. Self defense is not about getting aggressive, it’s about knowing how to keep one away from harm’s way. So for women who are the usual targets of assaults, here's the best reminder to keep the attackers away: Think before you act.

A Public Records show on the debate on Gun Law

Gun ownership is one of the many serious issues often discussed especially concerning domestic problems. Whether or not a person is allowed to carry a gun around has always been a good topic for debates especially in countries and states whose laws allows such. Unfortunately, when human mortality is concern, civilians with this weapon are always put to question due to the growth of crime rate.

Recent polls in the U.S. show a steady dropping of support for gun control. Public records show only 28% of the population strongly agrees for total ban of handguns. The rest however opposes the banning of gun ownership. It also shows that only about 49% of Americans would agree for more restrictive gun laws compared to that in 1990 when the issue on restriction was first asked. The debates on this issue alone leads to more talks on the effectiveness of the firearm regulation, especially with most Independents giving support on gun ownership which is the main reason for the percentage drop of persons in support for the restrictive law.

Recent public records also show the views of the Republicans and the Democrats regarding gun control. Two opposing side still gives opposite say as Most Democrats shows more percentage of those wanting stricter laws rather than less strict compared to the Republicans whose division is believed to be brought by the fact that they are more likely to own guns according to the General Social Survey which is continuously conducted for the last 35 years.

Issues on gun violence have ignited arguments regarding gun control. United States is presently considered as the nation with the highest number of gun ownership. Unfortunately public records also identify United States as gaining the highest number of homicides. This was said in accordance to the recorded number of violence brought about by firearms as most victims are killed with guns.

Gun ownership seems to become a national trend. Persons, applying for gun licenses, seem to be rising about 44% in recent months. For gun dealers the reason behind such lies on the growing fear from criminals. Owning a gun has become a security measure. But other than that, recent growth in the gun owner’s population number is said to be connected with President Obama taking the seat in the White House. The Paranoia here is the fear that President Obama will take guns away.

Whether firearms should be prohibited or not is still a question as most people has taken this for self defense. But the fact that most homicide deaths are brought about by guns should not be pushed aside. This is but one issue that should be dealt with once and for all.

To be a people finder has been one means of giving television viewers a reality drama series as networks take advantage of this profession. In a way those who are looking for their missing loved ones are given a leeway to have their search more fruitful. But there are such cases that being a “people finder” happen to be pure luck and not based on the profession one really does.

The Locator is a television show which became the means of reuniting loved ones from one another.  The show is hosted by Troy Dunn, who was motivated to this job when he himself helped his mother in 1990 locate her own biological family. Together with his then-partner, they founded an organization that helps reunite people from those that are considered as un-findable. It was then that he became the Locator.

Troy built a team that made the reuniting people, which has been estimated to be 300 million and counting, more possible than any locator has done. For many years, people have witnessed heartfelt reunions in television through The Locator. Troy Dunn also became very famous with his numerous guest appearances in both US and UK based shows (BBC shows to be more specific).  His appearances earned him respect as he time and again brought loved ones together as only they could dream possible.

Troy Dunn became his own people finder as he launched TroyTheLocator.com.  This was launched to help more people than they already were doing. Unlike other people finder searches, Troy’s ways to locate long lost loved ones became very notable for their accurate results. His television show presently helps maintain his private investigator license. Furthermore, an addition to his success is the people who gave their time and effort in getting each and every reuniting feat a success. Troy himself trained his men to be a proficient people finder themselves.

The Locator, Troy Dunn, is but an example of a person who had made himself as means to connect people who have been missing from their loved ones lives for so long. But for any ordinary man to do such a feat (at least be the means of reuniting the lives of separated loved ones) is a possibility. There are times the Fates make ways for such things to happen.
